Taran Smith, Producer in 2006

Believe it or not, Taran Smith, who played Mark Taylor on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement, is credited as being a producer for a new film slated for 2006 called the 1 Second Film.

Yes, we were quite excited at the prospect of seeing Taran involved in a new media venture, the first since 1997 (well, apart from a few guest appearances as himself), however further investigation of the 1 Second Film means that this news is not actually that exciting.

The 1 Second Film is a venture for charity, the film is one second long, of about 12 different pictures, each shot twice to make 24 frames, ie, 1 Second. And then there are 90 minutes of credits.

It is not as bad as it sounds however. This is all for charity. Anybody, even you, can make a donation from $1 plus, and get a credit in the film as a producer. You can then get your name in the Internet Movie Database. Pretty neat, eh?
